Irina Shabetayev, Esq is a Juris Doctor (JD), graduate of Florida International University College of Law. Irina received her undergraduate and Master’s degree in law from the Moscow State University of Service in 2005.

During law school, Irina was a board member of Women in Law Society and International Law Students Association.

As a Certified Legal Intern at the Community Development Clinic, Irina provided pro bono services representing small businesses and non-profit organizations and acquired experience in the following areas: contract drafting, review and negotiation; lease review and negotiation; choice of entity and business formation; nonprofit corporations and 501 (c)(3) tax exemption; bylaws; board of directors meetings; basics of copyright and trademark issues; general tax advice; business licensing; and dispute resolution assistance.

Prior to joining the Law Office of Elizaveta Samorukova, P.A., Irina was an associate at the civil litigation law firm in Miami, focusing on foreclosure defense and family law, i.e. divorces, child dependency and domestic violence issues; and also served as a document review specialist at the FTI Consulting assisting U.S. and multinational clients respond to allegations involving the propriety of accounting and financial reporting, fraud, regulatory scrutiny and anti-corruption inquiries.

In March 2014, Irina became a valuable member of the team at the law firm of Elizaveta V. Samorukova, P.A. In our company, she specializes in immigration law: mainly on political asylum, deportation, VAWA petitions, difficult situations when applying for a green card; and in the field of family law, helping our clients with divorces, changing the name, preparing nuptial agreements, and other issues.

A native of Transnistria, Irina is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian. She is the proud mother of three sons.

Mrs. Shabetayev is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Florida Bar Association, and American Bar Association. She is licensed in Florida, authorized to practice immigration in all states of the United States. Irina is also qualified to practice in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, assisting our clients with their claims in front of federal court.

Irina is a frequent speaker at different seminars, conferences, webinars on U.S. immigration; she provides pro bono services and participates in community outreach projects. She leads the Professionalism Committee of the Russian-American Bar Association of Florida. During year of 2022 Irina devoted numerous hours to organizing and holding events to assist refugees that were forced to immigrate to the United States due to the war in Ukraine. She was recognized by the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar as a Pro Bono Award Honoree of the year.
